Six months has passed, leaving six months until Burning Man 2008 and we all migrate back to the Black Rock Desert. To celebrate Spring, longer days, warmer nights, and the anticipation of another year of projects, costumes, and planning Camp Inspiratum will host a party to bring us all together and share a bit of the inspiration that we all seem to find in each other.
Friday, February 22nd at Laboratorium Inspiratum Captain Chuck and Zoom Zoom will open the doors of their shop and welcome in all Burners old, new, jaded, hopeful, or otherwise. We provide the place, the lights, the stereo and you bring your costumes, some food, some drink, and we can all bring in the second half of the year together. Laboratorium Inspiratum is where our camp gets together to work, build, make costumes, build art cars, and socialize. This is the first of many Friday nights we will spend toiling away on projects so come help us kick it off!

Re: Black Rock Equinox Party
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 1:53 PMGood question... anytime after 7:00pm is good and we will be around until everyone goes home! The shop is in an industrial area so we really don't bother anyone with noise or parking!

Re: Black Rock Equinox Party
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 1:10 PMYea, some kids will be there early in the night... maybe this can be considered some sort of home schooling field trip?
We are encouraging people to bring their funky bikes or art or whatever to add some character to the bleakness that is industrial Rancho Cordova too. We have the Turtle and the Squidd (Banana Tree) and some other stuff. Nothing quite as exotic as the Exploratorium though, that machine tends to get me into trouble on and off the playa.

Thu, February 21, 2008 - 1:22 PMIs there a disclaimer for body dismemberment that we sign before we get in? You've never seen me on a bike.
And yes, we too were thinking come early and leave early. Although I'm sure the kids could out-party the parents. -

Re: Black Rock Equinox Party I went to the coolest Party I've been to in six months
Sun, February 24, 2008 - 4:04 PMI'm posting picture here I went to the coolest Party I've been to in six months
Captain Chuck and Zoom Zoom hosted the Burningman Equinox party in Rancho Cordova last night and I had a blast. They covered all the basics good music, food, lots of drinks, fire, amazing art/toys, hool-a-hoops, and the best were the people. I don't think I saw anyone show up with out something for the party . I didn't have to squint my eyes very much to be back on the playa. I could feel that special energy that burners create when ever they gather. I met lots of new people I think I made some new friends I got to ride a turtle and a tricycle but I didn't ride the palm tree ... it looked shady to me.( haha I Punned). I put up some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
I wanted to thanks to Captain Chuck, Harmony, and Zoom Zoom and every one for such a great time. You guys are the best of what Burningman is kind, generous, creative, and you can boogie.
Thank you my friends well done. -

Mon, February 25, 2008 - 1:06 PMYea, what a blast! It was so nice to get so many warm hugs even though we arrived a lil on the late side... (the FHB were already counting minutes on the motorhome when I arrived). Love to all of the freaky burners that I did or did not get to meet! <3 )'( woot for the Burner Community of the Greater Sacramento Area! -

Re: Black Rock Equinox Party I went to the coolest Party I've been to in six months
Mon, February 25, 2008 - 8:26 PMThe party ended up being a perfect gathering of people, creativity, machines, fire, hula hoops, music, and festivity. It was inspriational to see everyone out and excited and I have received so many complements about the venue and the event that we will certainly do it again. Anyone who would like to get in the inner sanctum of what goes on with Camp Inspiratum or wants to keep in touch with what we are doing for Laboratorium nights from here until the burn should join the Camp Inspiratum tribe.
We have a great community here in Sacramento and more events like this will give us all a reason to get out and do something a bit different.
Camp Inspiratum is a camp void of fees or obligation yet full of participation and giving. If any small groups want to join in and form together let me know.
Thanks everyone for making Friday Night's Black Rock Equinox Party awesome.
