As I sift through my gear for burning man, I find I have things I dont need and would like to pass them on to burners only. I thought it would be fun to all get together for a BBQ in the park preburn for a burner swap. I would normally just bring the stuff to the burn but I have through the years learned to pack lighter for the trip and leave this stuff behind, its time to pass it on.
My plan is to bring my bbq and my stuff and lots of burner spirit and hope you all come. If you have things you want to share or sell I think that would be good too.
Help me plan this out, I think it would be fun!

Sat, July 4, 2009 - 5:04 PMThanks Aya! I absolutely love this idea. I end up every year with things in my truck that are not mine and would love to pass some of those things on. Hmmm, I should grab them out of the pile of trash. :-)
I am also sooooooo missing the Sacremento family and would love to see all. Therefore, thinking selfishly for a moment, Sunday July 12 and Saturday, July 18 would be bad days for me. :-) -

To be quite frank, my weekends are disappearing at a rate faster than weekends are allowed to disappear - it's sad really! So, I propose we pony the gear trade with the social and make it LOTS of fun!! Screw giving a pub our money.... lets save some dough, BBQ, and be merry in each other's presence in the park - swappin' old gear, clothing, etc.
So, what say the masses? -

Fri, July 10, 2009 - 9:57 AMOur weekends are insanely booked as well. But I'm thinking if it's an outdoors bbq style event then kids would be welcome to the event. So if that is the case then it makes it a bit more possible for us to attend.
Someone needs to set a date, time, and location so that the rest of us can plan from there.

Fri, July 10, 2009 - 7:36 PMOk, as of now i would like to set this up in Carmichael park of Fair Oaks, big wonderful park, please bring the Kiddies and your extra gear and lots of Burner spirit, I am thinking of making this a late afternoon to dinnertime event, POSSIBLY the1st of Aug, that the best time for me and hopefully for you too, lets get this together and have a good time.
It will be a bring your own food/ bev event I can bring my portable bbq and extra propane for cooking.
Should we share burner crafts too.... -

red leather jacket, white fuzzy coat, puffy down two peace funky lookin outfit, gold three piece silk pajama set, bright bright pink silk dress, and lots more funky funky clothes.
I cant wait till AUG 1.

Is it fair to say pretty much anything might be useful to someone somewhere somehow?
I need wearable gear -- only been once and was outfitted fairly uninterestingly. Just don't know what to bring in trade.

Is this open to any of us? I haven't been that active in the Sac Burner Community but ran and helped run Operation Camp. My usually yearly duties outside of Burning man keep me pretty busy but would love to make this and meet some of ya.

We would love to meet all of you at the park this weekend. We can bring something to eat/drink, but I am not sure if we have items to
swap ;( (We tend to move a lot, so we try not to accumulate extra stuff if possible, lol.) I'll definately take a look and bring whatever I find though!
